What further training opportunities are there for architects?
There are essentially two areas in which further training in the field of architecture is of essential importance. On the one hand, on a content level regarding building law, standards, planning principles, etc. and on the other hand, with regard to the handling of tools in order to present and communicate the content.
The zt:akademie
There are a number of seminar providers that specialise in the further training of architects and their employees. The first port of call for information on current topics and basic planning content is the zt:akademie organised by the Chamber of Civil Engineers. The titles of the courses, such as Attic Conversion in Vienna, Practical Tendering and Awarding, through to stimulating events such as Re:use Circular Building and Design as a Design Principle, show the wide range of this institution.
Manufacturers/professionals
First-hand construction expertise is provided by those who work on construction sites every day. In order to do justice to special construction methods right from the planning stage, coordination with the contractors is essential. HAWLIK GERGINSKI ARCHITEKTEN regularly invites experts to share their experience.
Many architects - many possibilities
To learn from other planners who often work on similar projects, we recommend taking a look at the relevant specialist literature and magazines. In addition to printed magazines, many publishers now have knowledge platforms on the internet. Due to the low publication costs, there are also a large number of smaller information platforms for architects on the web.
Further training opportunities from software companies and dealers
These offer a wide range of basic courses, where simple functions for creating walls, ceilings and the general structure of 3D models are taught. In addition, in-depth courses teach how to create your own tools - keyword GDL programming. Programmes for quality assurance and checking options within the software are also part of the offer.
Further training is mandatory
A general obligation to undergo further training has long been prescribed by law for civil engineers. The statutory professional development regulations for architects and engineering consultants have been in force since 1 January 2022. By the way: Voluntary work on committees of the Chamber of Civil Engineers is considered equivalent to further training.
