113 Architecture questions - How is a photorealistic rendering created?

In addition to the floor plans, sections and views, the visualisation of the building structure plays a key role in a project presentation. With the help of renderings, clients and customers can visualise the future development and the rooms much better. But how are these visualisations actually created? Firstly, the model is carefully constructed in 3D space. No detail is too small! Special attention is paid to the materials, colours and surfaces. In the end, the building is nothing more than a composition of sensibly solved details. Next, the finished building model is edited in the rendering programme. Viewing angles, light, shadows, time of day, weather and much more are calibrated according to the desired result. The type of representation can range from abstract and stylised to photorealistic. The surroundings, such as neighbouring houses, streets and trees, are set up according to reality. The scene is then ready for rendering. The image is then post-processed in Photoshop and vividly "conjured up" with human figures. A little tip for dealing with visualisations: These days, renderings often depict an unrealistic amount of greenery. This can possibly lead to deceptive effects. Our recommendation is therefore to "think away" trees and shrubs, look at the building itself and ask the question: Does the design still meet my expectations?
